It's a score for your performance/behavior in the Dota 2 game. It's similar to those evaluation grades you got for your performance and behavior in preschool or primary school - N for Naughty, G for Great, or something like that. It's a similar idea here.
If you are a what so-called a toxic player, which means you are continually ruining games and receiving reports. Then you will probably have a low behavior score. If you're a helpful and friendly player, you'll have a high behavior score. The maximum behavior score is 10,000. No one can tell you for sure how it's being calculated, but one thing is clear that it is related to commends, reports, and the amount of time placed in low priority.
Valve utilizes this behavior score to coordinate players together when they queue for games. Valve's goal is to keep games enjoyable for all, so as long as you are not ruining games and behaving properly, then you should not worry about your behavior score.
For a more detailed analysis, check out the behavior score ranking below:
Player's Score | Player's Category |
---|---|
1 – 4999 | Toxic |
5000-5999 | Bad |
6000-6999 | Average |
7000-7999 | Okay |
8000-8999 | Good |
9000-9999 | Amazing |
The score gets affected by three features: Abandonment, Commends, and Reports. For details on how these three features affect your score, check out the list below:
An example of getting commends and reports: If a player is using a Dota 2 Boost service, he is likely to gain mass reports by the players in the game, in case that his identity has been revealed as the booster. However, if the player is not revealed as the booster and is merely playing well, he is more likely to receive more commends.
Feature | Change |
---|---|
Commend | +100 |
Report | -500 |
Abandon | -1000 |
As you can see, increasing your Dota 2 Behavior Score is much more complicated than just increasing your MMR. Thats why, you should be extra careful while playing, try to not ruin, feed, flame or abuse anyone as getting reported from all of your teammates will make you lose almost 2000 points.
In order to find your behavior score, you will need to have a console enabled. To do this, you'll need to:
Once you have the console up and running, you need to use a specific command within it in order to see your exact behavior score
